Stump removal involves eliminating the tree stump completely by digging it out with an excavator. Removal is a much more involved project and requires more equipment and manpower.
Stump grinding uses a different approach and is much more common. Stump grinders chew away at the stump wood that’s left after a tree has been cut down. All stump grinders use a powerful, rotating blade that rips into the wood as it turns. The blade’s teeth cut the stump wood into small pieces. Our skilled operators guide the blade over the entire stump as the blade reduces the wood to chips, and takes the stump down to well below ground level.
Renting can be a good option if you have a large project or can share the cost with a neighbor. Be sure to remember to factor in your time in addition to the proper safety equipment required in order to operate the machine. It is not uncommon to pay up to $400.00 per day to rent a stump grinder. In many cases, our estimates are fairly close to the same price as renting.
If you compare what you’ll need to do against the time and cost of having your stump professionally removed, you may find that our professional option is the better choice. Stump Bee Gone is experienced, fast and efficient, and we have a trained crew and professional equipment.
Most companies just grind the stump to grade level. This is not acceptable if you are planning to grow grass. We Grind 6-10 inches below grade. which is plenty to be able to top dress with soil and replant
